Amid a push to innovate its fleet management and supply chain services, Ryder System Inc. has launched a partnership with Aperia Technologies, a company that specializes in improving fuel economy through automatic tire pressure adjustment products.
The partnership paves the way for all Ryder (NYSE: R) heavy-duty trucks to install and use Halo Tire Inflator, a signature Aperia product that checks and automatically corrects tire pressure to extend its lifetime use and reduce a car or truck’s overall fuel consumption.
Unlike traditional tire inflation systems, Halo is self-powered, self-contained and versatile, Aperia claims, easing the process of integrating the system through Ryder’s fleet.
Halo will also become Ryder’s preferred tire inflation solution for Ryder ChoiceLease customers, marking Aperia’s first ever exclusive partnership with a full-service leasing company.
“We believe innovative automatic tire inflation solutions provide tremendous peace of mind for customers committed to on-time deliveries,” said Scott Perry, chief technology and procurement officer for Ryder FleetManagement Solutions.
